“Stonewall Stroll” @ Provincetown Pride (in partnership with Stonewall Museum & Archives, Fort Lauderdale, FL): In honor of the 50th, the Stonewall Museum has created and offered to print 17 individual displays in large poster size panels that tell the story of the Stonewall Inn Riots. We will create a “Stonewall Stroll” starting at 3 PM Friday 5/31 and going until end of day Sunday June 2, 2019 with a display of the posters throughout town with sponsoring businesses. The “Stonewall Stroll” would begin at the Center’s retail storefront with information on where the panels are displayed. Pride Participants would be encouraged with handheld and mobile maps to “stroll” around town to our displays, learn more and enjoy the best the town has to offer. Co-sponsored by The Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank.
Time: All Weekend starting at 3 PM Friday, May 31st
Location: located throughout town (maps available at The LGBTQ Welcome Center 368 Commercial)
Stonewall Inn Witnesses to History: Stonewall Veterans Mark Segal and David Velasco Bermudez, who were arrested at the riots. The Center will host an interview format program moderated by Rob Delehanty of the Stonewall Museum and Archives. This would be a ticketed event at suggested $20 donation per ticket benefiting the Provincetown LGBTQ Welcome Center and Stonewall Museum and Archives.
