APRIL

April 1: Opening of Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum, www.pilgrim-monument.org. The museum commemorates the history of the Mayflower Pilgrims, their arrival and stay in Provincetown Harbor, and the signing of the Mayflower Compact. The monument is the tallest all-granite structure in the United States.

April 13-15: Cabaret Fest www.ptown.org/CabaretFest.asp. The only cabaret festival on Cape Cod with national, international, and local entertainers. Join us as Provincetown welcomes the best of the best from the world of cabaret. This is a not-to-be-missed opportunity to enjoy the musical styling of world-renowned cabaret artists gathered in one town at the same time.

April 15-16: Miss Gay Massachusetts US of A, www.onlyatthecrown.com. “Hit the Runway” for Massachusetts in Revue as past winners of the Miss Gay Massachusetts USofA perform as a prelude to Sunday night's pageant.

April 20-21: First annual New England Transgender Film Festival www.netff.org. Over 15 films will be shown over two days with a transgender forum, Q&A sessions, and a community dance.

April 20-29: Provincetown Green Arts Festival, www.provincetownconservationtrust.org. A celebration of arts and the environment: the works of over 100 visual, literary, conceptual, and performance artists.

MAY

May 1: Opening of Province Lands Visitor Center, www.nps.gov/caco/planyourvisit/visitorcenters.htm. The observation deck provides a 360-degree view of the Province Lands dunes, the Outer Beach, and the Atlantic Ocean.

May 4-6: Gays for Patsy Spring Stomp, www.gaysforpatsy.org. Dancing, Workshops, and Performances held at Paramount Night Club.

May 11-12: Ragnar Relay Cape Cod www.ragnarcapecod.com 200 mile relay race from Plymouth to Provincetown presented by NordicTrack.

May 17: Ferry service begins to & from Boston, www.provincetownfastferry.com and www.bostonharborcruises.com.

May 18-20: Single Women’s Weekend www.singlewomensweekend.com. The only national weekend gathering designed for single lesbians to meet. Speed dating, mixers, entertainment, dance parties and other fun, easy ways for people to meet.

May 18-24: Restaurant Week and Gallery Stroll www.provincetowntourismoffice.com. Fabulous prix fixe meals at local restaurants, and an evening of art offered by Provincetown galleries.

May 19: Opening of Highland Lighthouse www.lighthouse.cc/highland/index.html. An active U.S. Coast Guard aid to navigation, owned by the Cape Cod National Seashore.

May 19: Twisted Fairytales, What Mother Goose Didn’t Want You to Know!! www.ptown.org/YardSale.asp. Ever wonder what happened to the characters from your favorite fairytale stories beyond the “happily ever after” ending? Come join Alice’s journey to another land as different worlds collide and experience this high energy show that will engage your every second with it’s dynamic dance routines, colorful costumes, live singing and exquisite dancers.

May 19-20: Town-wide Monumental Yard Sale www.ptown.org/YardSale.asp. Great bargains and fun as stores and home owners offer their discounted wares and family heirlooms at this town wide yard sale.

May 20: Mariner’s Weekend open house at Race Point Light www.web.me.com/jenkinsgroup/Race_Point/Welcome.html. The biggest tour of the season at the Race Point Light Station and transportation is provided. Light refreshments are served.

May 31-June 3: Women of Color Weekend, www.womenofcolorweekend.com. Join women of color and their allies for pool parties, first class entertainers, and blow out dance parties.

JUNE

June 1-3: Encaustic Conference at Castle Hill www.castlehill.org/encaustic-conference.html. Talks, workshops, and more.

June 2: By The Sea Bike Trek, www.helpingourwomen.org. Non-competitive fundraiser offers cyclists a choice of three loops of increasing distance through Provincetown and Truro.

June 7: A Night at the Chef’s Table, www.asgcc.org. Benefit for the AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod.

June 9: Wine and Whales, www.coastalstudies.org/who-we-are/35theventwine.htm. Wine-tasting event to benefit work with right whales.

June 13-17: Provincetown International Film Festival, www.ptownfilmfest.org. 14th annual Provincetown International Film Festival dedicated to showing new achievements in independent film and honoring the work of acclaimed and emerging directors, actors and producers.

June 14: Provincetown Heritage Day www.ptownlib.com. Events that highlight Provincetown’s history.

June 21-24: Provincetown Portuguese Festival & Blessing of the Fleet www.provincetownportuguesefestival.com. A festival celebrating Provincetown’s Portuguese culture: food, dancing, entertainment, and the parade of boats to be blessed all round out this event.

JULY

July 3-6: Summer Camp/Circuit Week, www.davidflower.com. A boat cruise, world-class DJs , and parties make this the most popular July 4th destination on the circuit.

July 4: July Fourth parade and fireworks, www.provincetowntourismoffice.org. Nearly 100,000 people come for the parade and the fireworks show off of MacMillan Wharf.

July 7-15: Bear Week, www.ptownbears.org. Massive bear-fest that draws men from all over the world.

July 8: Secret Garden Tour, www.paam.org. One of the highlights of the summer: the amazing gardens of Provincetown.

July 9: Bear Boat Cruise, www.davidflower.com.

July 17-21: Girl Splash, www.girl-splash.com. The destination summer event for lesbians. Pool party, clam bakes, dune tours, and white hot dances … come play at the beach!

July 22: Provincetown 5K run/walk, www.asgcc.org. Fundraiser for the AIDS support group.

July 23: Homemade boat race, www.capeboating.com. Benefit for the Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies produced by Venture Athletics Kayak Shop. Prizes awarded based on ingenuity, aesthetics, costumes, and winning the race.

July 23-28: Whale Week, www.coastalstudies.org/what-we-do/education-programs/marine-education/specialevents5.htm. Week-long schedule of family-friendly events featuring a marine theme.

July 28-August 4: Family Pride Week, www.familyequality.org. A chance for children to meet other children with GLBT parents and for parents to meet other parents and share experiences. A parade and plenty of activities for all ages.

AUGUST

August 4-5: Pan Mass Challenge, www.pmc.org. Benefit for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

August 5-11: Camp Lightbulb, www.camplightbulb.org. A week-long summer camp for GLBT young people aged 16-18.

August 8: Drag Kickball, www.facebook.com/Drag Kickball. Benefit for Helping Our Women at Motta Field.

August 11-13: Provincetown Jazz Festival, www.provincetownjazzfestival.org. Experience and enjoy some of the hottest jazz on the east coast!

August 12-18: Carnival Week, www.ptown.org/Carnival.asp. A week-long celebration of the 2012 theme “PTown: A Space Odyssey” that transforms Provincetown into one big party. Boat cruise, inn stroll, music, special events, and of course, the famous carnival parade on the 16th that attracts over 65,000 viewers and marches the length of Commercial Street. Floats, dancers, and performers all show off what this year’s theme means to them!

SEPTEMBER

September 1-7: Great Provincetown Schooner Regatta www.provincetownschoonerrace.com. A fleet of classic wooden schooners comes to Provincetown for a week of races and events for all types of boats & boat lovers.

September 7: Celebration of Life concert, www.swim4life.org. Community concert to support Swim for Life.

September 8: Swim for Life and paddler flotilla, www.swim4life.org. Swimmers and kayakers go from Long Point to Provincetown to raise money for local AIDS, women's health, and youth organizations

September 20-23: Tennessee Williams Theater Festival, www.twptown.org. Celebrating Tennessee Williams' legacy with innovative, world-class productions with music performed all over town.

September 21-23- Parents’ Weekend, www.seashorepoint.org. Opportunities to share the town with your parents.

September 22: Historic House Tour, www.pilgrim-monument.org. Ever wonder what Provincetown living looks like, then come check it out!

September 27-30: Mates Leather Weekend, www.matesleatherweekend.com. Leather/fetish community events and music with a portion of proceeds benefitting the AIDS support group.

September 28-30: Pet Appreciation Weekend, www.casasanimalshelter.org. Parade, blessing of the pets and tea dance.

OCTOBER

October 6: PAAM gala, www.paam.org. An elegant benefit for PAAM’s curatorial projects.

October 6-8: Townwide Yard Sale, www.ptown.org/YardSale.asp. Bargains and fun as shopkeepers’ wares spill out onto the sidewalk.

October 8-14: Women’s Week, www.womeninnkeepers.com. A week of events, shows, exhibits and fun all geared toward women.

October 14-21: Fantasia Fair, www.fantasiafair.org. The longest-running annual event in the transgender world with shows, workshops, and food.

October 19-20: Provincetown Dance Festival, www.castlehill.org. Dance troupes from all over the world participate.

October 26-28: Halloween, www.ptown.org/halloween.asp. The PBG 50/50 raffle, haunted houses, cemetery walking tours, food, and more. Be prepared to be scared!

NOVEMBER

NOVEMBER/DECEMBER

November 30-December 2: Holly Folly, www.ptown.org/HollyFolly.asp. A Gay and Lesbian Holiday Festival with a shop hop, trolley service, concerts and sing-alongs, the Boston Gay Men’s Chorus concert and an inn stroll. Not to be missed!

DECEMBER

December 1: Souper Saturday, www.ptownsoup.org. Soup Kitchen of Provincetown benefit. Soups are donated by local restaurants to raise funds for this important community organization.

December 9: David Asher Senior Dinner. A PBG sponsored benefit dinner in rememberance of David Asher for our local senior citizens, at the VFW.

December 11: Holiday open house at the center for coastal studies www.coastalstudies.org. Learn about research, education, and disentanglement programs.

December 14-16: Outer Cape Chorale concert, www.outercapechorale.org. Sondheim! at the town hall and in Orleans.

December 22: Holiday Jazz Concert, www.paam.org. Benefit for the Provincetown Art Association and Museum
